Willow
The elder.
Morgan · 28 years old · At the Centre since 2009
Willow is the oldest horse at the Centre and the one who's been here the longest. She doesn't move much anymore. She stands in her favourite corner of the paddock, watches the herd, and allows whatever comes. People sit with her. They groom her slowly. They rest their hands on her side and feel her breathe. There's no agenda with Willow, no exercise, no technique. She's simply present — in the way that very old things are present, with a stillness that isn't empty but full. Clients working through end-of-life issues, long grief, questions of legacy and mortality — they often find their way to Willow. Not because anyone directs them there, but because something in her quietness calls to something in theirs. She is a living lesson in what it means to still be here.
