On the difference between regulation and calm
Calm is a state. Regulation is a capacity. One of them you can learn. The other you can only wait for.
This is a placeholder for future journal content. When the Centre's journal goes live, this post will contain Johanna's reflections on nervous system regulation, the distinction between feeling calm and being regulated, and why the difference matters in therapeutic work.
The full post will explore how horses model regulation without performing calm — and what clients can learn from that distinction.
